Ranking Reports: Quick-Start Guide

Dive into Cave's extensive report library, starting with the highly versatile Ranking Reports. To get a sense of the power of these reports, we'll create a straightforward report ranking customers by their sales over the past 90 days.

Adjust Your Report Settings

  1. Navigate to the Reports hyperlink on the right side of the second menu row. If your view defaults to saved reports, click Show All.

  3. On the Ranking Report Settings page, the first line lets you filter by date range. Instead of manual entering dates, choose Last 90 Days from the dropdown. This ensures the date range is updated every time you run the report.

  4. For now, leave the next set of filters blank. This keeps our report comprehensive.

Without closing the report tab, switch back to the Settings page. Adjust the settings and continue to Run the report until you've found the version that's most useful to you on a regular basis.

Save Your Settings

Once you're satisfied with the settings, save them by clicking Save Selections As My Defaults at the very bottom of the page. Name your report, something like "Customer Rankings: Past 90 Days", and add it to your repertoire.

Now when you return to the Customer Ranking report, these will be your default settings. And next time you visit the main Reports page, you'll see a link directly to this saved report on the right-hand side of the page.

Next Steps

You can update the settings for this saved report, and you can save additional versions to choose from. You can also use these same tools to create Product Ranking reports and Sales Order Ranking reports. And you can customize the main Reports page to see links to these and other reports. We'll explore all of those options in upcoming articles in this series on Cave reports.
